Hill PHOENIX is a leading designer and manufacturer of refrigeration and electrical equipment sold primarily to the supermarket industry. In addition, the Company sells its refrigeration products to dollar and convenience store customers and its electrical products to a variety of general retail outlets. Products include refrigeration systems, display cases, walk-in coolers and freezers, electrical distribution products, and engineering services. Hill PHOENIX has positioned itself as the industry innovator and technology leader. The Company is the market leader in refrigeration systems, including parallels, mechanical centers, secondary coolant (Second Nature), direct drive compressor units, paratemps, and combination refrigeration/electrical centers. Hill PHOENIX sells equipment directly to the end user. A growing percentage of sales go through its independent dealer organization. The Company has strategically located branch operations that install and service the equipment and can also provide store planning services. Hill PHOENIX was formed after the 1994 acquisition of Hill Refrigeration, a display case and systems manufacturer, which was combined with the Phoenix Refrigeration systems business. Margaux Refrigeration was added the following year. In 2000 the Company acquired National Cooler Corporation, a leading manufacturer of walk-in coolers and freezers on the West Coast and opened a second plant in Georgia. Hill PHOENIX operates 6 manufacturing facilities comprising approximately 1,200,000 square feet.
